My Thoughts: Freak Laboratory Cosmetics.

I was recently contacted by Freak Laboratory Cosmetics, who asked if I would like to try out a few of their products. Being someone who is makeup obsessed, I accepted. I love the whole look of their website, the branding, and the name mostly, I love that they're called Freak Laboratory!

My package arrived after a few days, and I was excited to see what they had sent me. I was lucky enough to receive two of their eyeshadows, a foundation, a highlighter, and a lipstick. I couldn't wait to play. The packaging is also sooo cool! As you can see above, everything looked lovely before I unwrapped it - I love when things come nicely presented, it always makes me feel a little bit special.

(So, get ready for a picture heavy post!)

So, Freak Laboratory is a company that was founded by two lovely ladies, Katie and Maria - Here is a little about what made them want to create their own products, in their own words:

We'd always been users of MAC, Lancome, Clarins etc when it came to foundations, but the continuing irritations they caused our skin (sometimes within the same day!) were frustrating. This is where our mission really began. We knew mineral foundation was the next thing for us to try. So, we set about creating a mineral foundation that provides a base as beautiful as any liquid or cream foundation, but without skin irritants. It's taken a lot of time, work and passion, but we've done it. We now have a small but dedicated customer base in our local area and we're so delighted to hear from our customers that their skin is improving, friends and family are commenting on it, they'll never use another foundation etc.

We also wanted to work with colour cosmetics, so alongside the foundations we've created loose, highly pigmented eyeshadows, brow wax, long lasting + colour rich lipsticks, mineral blushers, contouring + bronzing powders, a fixer, and very soon a gel eyeliner that will be available in colours not seen in other brand's gel liners so far. We're really excited about this one! Our chief aim is to provide high quality + fashion reactive makeup, bringing unique colours and finishes across an array of cosmetic products.

Swatches » Glamour Doll Eyeshadows ♡

Cutely packaged, great range of shades!
Hey everyone, recently I was sent some Glamour Doll Eyes eyeshadows to review on my youtube channel, and I just wanted to write this post for any of my blog readers who don't watch my videos and for those that want to see some better swatches.

Here is the link to where you can purchase any of the eyeshadows that they sell. GlamourDollEyes
They are only $6 each which is for a full size shadow and they have a huge range of shades. You can also purchase samples, and stacks of shadows too.

All of the shadows that I chose are beautifully smooth, very pigmented and long lasting. The colour pay off is just amazing, and I love how sparkly and eye catching they are.

The shades I chose are as follows.

What do you think? Any of the shades stand out to you? I love Pistol Pistol the most, but they are all gorgeous. I will have some FOTD posts coming soon!

Oh and as a special extra for my viewers/readers, if you want to make a purchase from the Glamour Doll Eyes Website, I have a voucher code! :

Just enter "melovemakeup" for 10% off any purchase of
$20 or more until December 20, 2010.
(Please Note that This code isn't applicable on collections,

Amazing Pigments - Cheap!

"Pigments.. For cheap?!"
I hear you cry!

Well Yes, you got it!

Just take a little look at these babies :

How frikkin fabulously colourful do they look? .. .. .. I know, Right?!

Where did I get them? .. Wait for this!

P R I M A R K !!

Yes, that place that sells loads of pretty cool stuff for a bargain price. They seem to have done away with the old 'Opia' Make up range that they had and got loads of brand spanking new stock in, named 'Primark Essentials'.

They seem to have changed their whole make up and beauty section, They have new products galore. I was so impressed when I first saw these but only bought one packet to start with (You get two in each packet!) In all honesty I was super sceptical because they were only £1.00 for two. They had a pretty good colour range, So I got one and thought I'd try it before I got anymore.

Well, all I can say is wowzers, they are so good for the price! Mega pigmented and nice and shimmery (Before you ask, No - They do not have chunky glitter in - as you will see from the pictures you are soon to see..)

So I got my butt back down there and bought all the colours they had, They have 5 different packets, each with two dusts in, Some of the colours are similar, but for £1.00 that isn't a huge deal.

So, onto the goods.. They are in a Barry M Dazzle Dust size jar, but the packaging is totally plain and unfancy, with just a small 'eyeshadow dust' sticker on the lid..

Like this :

Anyway, Let me show you what I have, and some swatches :) (Click images to enlarge)

*The Berry one is my absolute fave, such a rich gorgeous colour*

*I love these too, so bright and summery!*

*The Gold and Violet compliment each other so well*

*These are so lovely for summer too, Pretty pastels*

*The first two I got were these, and they sold them all to me!*

So there you have it.. My little rave about the fabulous new Primark eye dusts! .. I forgot to mention, they are not named either - But I don't think it matters. I just gave them the names in the pictures.

I also have a couple of other things from the 'Primark Essentials' range which are good. The quad palletes are nicely pigmented. I may do a post about them later too.

What do you think of these, have you tried them? .. Will you be trying them?

I HEART Barry M Dazzle Dust!

O M G! This Dazzle Dust = LOVE!

So, when I won the Barry M Be a Star competition earlier this year (Shamless plug, for those who haven't seen, click here! I ordered loads of stuff with my prize money, but mainly dazzle and glitter dusts. It is only now that I am coming to the end of trying them all out properly, and I came across this one, #55 = Fig.

Geeeeewhizz! I love love love love it! It makes for a perfect smokey eye over blackground paint pot. It is just the most stunning brick copper red burgundy kind of colour.

I love it, and I wanted to share it with you! If you don'a have it, go get!

Here is how it looks on it's own over blackground.

Review: Collection 2000 - Dazzle Me!

OK, So these dazzle me's are like £2.99 each, which is such a bargain. I was sceptical at first, about the quality etc, with them being so cheap but I went for it and decided to try them. I got one and I loved it!

They are the same size just about as a MAC pigment, and the quality is equally as good in my opinion, If not better! They are more of a fine dust, which I find easier to work with..

They have about 20 + Different colours which are all vibrant, and you can apply them wet, dry, use them as a liner or whatever!

The packaging is good although I do find the lids don't stay on tightly so make sure you keep them upright. They come with a sifter, which is useful if you like them.

These are the shades I have, applied wet.

(L to R) Enigma, Tinkerbell, Spellbound, Fairydust, Illusion & Sugarplum.

They are slightly shimmery, but gorgeous too!

Any questions, message me :)
