Saucy, Glitzy Nails.

This nail of the day is pretty self explanatory really. Red nails, glitter tips. I was bored one evening and had this look in mind. I love how it came out, and the photos don't really do it any justice at all. It was one of those nails looks that had me staring at my hands throughout the day. It's difficult to capture the glitzyness of Models Own Juicy Jules on camera.
So I used Eyeko Saucy Polish, and Models Own Juicy Jules on the tips.

It took a little time to do the tips, and I needed a couple of thick coats, which took ages to dry.  When they did chip (after a couple of days without a topcoat) they chipped on the glitter tip, unsurprisingly.

I think I will do these nails again closer to Christmas. They are sooo festive!

 Models Own Black Pearl Nails.

Black Swirl from Models Own is my new favourite nail polish! I have been wearing it on my nails ever since I got it. It is one of the new shades from Models Own.

Black Swirl is a metallic black with a silver pearl shot through it, It almost looks like a gunmetal grey in some lights. When it catches the light though, it really comes to life and you can clearly see the silver metallic sheen to it. I love it, it's so much more glam than a flat black.

It took two coats to get the bottle colour, and it dried nice and fast. I didn't use a topcoat, and it lasted on my nails for a couple of days before chipping .. (I really must invest in a topcoat..)

Here is how it looks :)

No Flash.
It is so pretty isn't it? .. I will have a NOTD soon with the other shade so look out for that.

Models Own Polishes are £5 from their website and Boots.

I love them, they are just so very cute and simple, yet eyecatching! Everyone who has seen them has loved them too, this makes me smile. :)

I got the nail plate for free from bornpretty I had seen a post about it on a few blogs about them giving it away, and so I tried it, and got it a week later in the post. I was so pleasantly surprised..

» Models Own Nail Polishes.

Here are two of the new shades from Models Own. Prussian Blue and Garnet. Both are bright eye catching colours, and really nice opaque finishes within two coats. The staying power is good with them too, even without a base/top coat (I'm always lazy with that!) ..

Prussian Blue is a matte finish, which needed two coats. It's gorgeously bright, like a royal blue and it dries super fast, like most matte shades too. I love it, and can't wait to experiment with it, with GOSH Rainbow and Barry M Nail Effects over the top.

Garnet is a lovely bright red colour, very sophisticated and kind of festive. It's opaque in two coats and dries reasonably quick. Both lasted well and I love the applicator brush on both polishes. I am new to Models Own, but quite impressed overall with the quality, pigmentation and lasting power!

Excuse the sloppy application, I painted them just so you could get an idea of the colours. I think I need some of them nail swatch wheel things so I can take really good pics!

Anyway, what do you think of the colours? I like both of them, but Prussian Blue takes the lead just a little for me! I can't wait to experiment with it, like I said.

Models Own Polishes are available from Models Own Website & Boots, for £5 each.

♥ Models Own Kit.

I am guessing that most of you have already picked up your free models own make up kit by now? .. If you have been living under a rock and don't know what I am talking about, see this post.

I just thought I would do a little review on what I think of all of the kits contents! It's a great little kit worth £24, and you can get it for the cost of two newspapers.

So, Here is what I think ...

♥ The Tweezers : I like these! They have a good slant to them and they are quite sharp at the edge, which makes for good hair grabbing and pulling out. The pink metallic look is nice and eye catching too!

♥ The Eyelash Curlers : I'm not overly keen on these. They are just OK .. They don't get near to the root of the lash at all, therefore it kinda curls the lash from mid way, which isn't too good.

♥ The Mascara : It's very dry. It does nothing to enhance my lashes what. so. ever. It is like a black lash dye, it just makes them look darker without adding any length or volume. Bleh.

♥ The Liquid Liner : The applicator for this is a bit pants .. well a lot pants actually! It's massive and would not be easy to use directly. The formula of the liner is nice though, it's quite thick and very long lasting! I just dip my own brush into it and use it that way.

♥ The Eyeshadow Duo : Saving the best for last! This duo is really nice, the colour combo is good, the shadows are soft and pigmented and they blend nicely. We have a winner!

So, all in all it's not too bad, there are a couple of things that I probably won't use, but this is just my opinion, and some of you may like what I don't!

Have you got your Models Own Kit yet? What are your thoughts?

Purple Festive Sparkle Nails!

Just another NOTD for you guys. This time it's an Avon Nail Polish, in the shade Decadence, it's a stunner, opaque in just two coats, it dries quickly and I love the application brush, it's thin and precise.

I have had this polish for years, but am pleased to see that they still do it, they just have a different shaped bottle now. For the glitter I used Models Own 'Juicy Jules' polish. Gorgeously sparkle, but a nightmare to remove!

Do you like it?

Decadence is available here, and is currently half price. Juicy Jules can be purchased from here.
