- The Face Essentials.

G'day!
This evening I wanted to talk about some of my most favourite face products. For me, these are essential staples that I feel like I need to have for my face when doing my makeup.

This one is a very long standing favourite of mine. I can remember when I first tried an eye primer (this one) and being so massively amazed at how it kept my eyeshadow in place all night and it didn't crease! My eyeshadow was always a creasy mess before I discovered eye primer. This one remains a favourite, I have tried others but nothing else seems to compare.

A fairly recent discovery, and a brow game changer from the first use. I love that it has a coloured wax and powder to set it with. It just works - well! I use the wax then the powder with a stiff angled brush, and it gives me somewhat decent looking brows... most of the time! Although brows are always my nemesis.. This just makes them a little less so.

I've been using this one for years, since it came out (whenever that was!) It soothes and cools my undereyes, which is great on those early mornings. It's brightens and conceals and soothes all in one, a win-win-win! I couldn't be without it.

I got this one sent to me when it was first released. I remember anticipating it coming out here when everyone across the pond was talking about it. I wasn't sure it'd be for me because of how light people were saying it was, but I LOVE. This is a must have for me, it's so weightless, covers well and doesn't highlight dry patches or make my face an oily mess. My skin stays reasonable matte because of the powder finish. I have run out at the moment and I am itching to go and repurchase again!

I was very excited when cheaper drugstore brands started latching on to the tinted brow gel idea. I have a few, but I tend to reach for this one the most, I really like how the spoolie wand is teeny tiny, so a perfect size for your brows. It does add thickness to them too, and obviously colour.. Plus it's massive mascara size, so will last for ages!

Beauty Look Book #FOTD: New Years Brights.

Happy New Year all!

I'm back with a new haircut and a face of the day.. I know, I know! Crazy right? I always promise myself I'll post these regularly and then I don't, so my first official 2014 post is a FOTD. I am going to try and be more regular with these... Maybe one or two a month.

So, I wanted to play with some brights since I'd been sticking to neutrals for such a long time, with the new hair cut I thought I'd go for a bold eye and lip!

I used urban decay primer to prime my eyelids and then I started on my crease. I first used a light brown (MAC Era) to get some definition, then I added a lid colour, I used a navy shade (MAC - Deep Feelings) from an old holiday palette that I have on the inner and outer corners on my lid and then I added a bright blue (MAC - Deep Truth) all over the centre of the lid and blended it in with the navy. I then added the pink into the crease above the blue and I used two shades mixed for this (The Body Shop - Berry cheeky & MAC - Feast, from the same Holiday Palette) .. I blended them softly as I didn't want it to be too intense.

For liner I used a gel liner (MAC fluidline - Blacktrack) and I also tightlined my eyes with this and smudged it along my lower lashline, then I added some shadow over the top along my lower lashline (MAC - Feast). I added two coats of black mascara (Max Factor False Lash Effect) and highlighted my browbone (MAC Holiday Palette - Satisfy).

For the skin I used L'Oreal Nude Magique Foundation (Porcelain) and a translucent powder, I concealed with Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection (Fair) and I used a C-2000 Blush from the Little Mix Collection in the 'Perrie' shade (Love this!). I contoured/highlighted (Sleek contour kit - Light) and filled in my brows (HD Brows - Foxy) to finish the face.

Finally for the lips I mixed some liptars from OCC (Demure and NSFW) with a pout paint (Cloud 9) from Sleek Makeup to create a hot pick shade.

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed the post and that you like the look. Let me know if you'd like more of these.

Have a great week!

I actually forgot how much I love this palette! It is so awesome for so many different looks. I didn't know what I was going to do, but this is what happened, it's just a smokey look with some gold/bronze. I honestly think I could go away for a week and just use this palette, it's so lovely.

⋆ Blogmas, Day 7 ~ Festive Nails.

Hey Everyone!

I've had a productive day today. I wanted to wash my makeup brushes - always a major chore! And I wanted to give myself a manicure and pedicure.

So I slapped on a face mask and set about painting my toes and then decided I'd do my finger nails in the same colour. This is a shade from Sleek Makeup called 'Royalty' that I've had for ages and never really used I don't think.

I thought it was a perfect deep, rich burgundy that was great for the festive season! It's super opaque and could be a one coater, but this is two. It dries really quickly too which is always a bonus in my opinion. I cannot stand waiting for polish to dry.

My toes look lovely too, all festive and matching. No pic of that though, I don't do feet!

Blue and Purple = Blurple. This is officially my favourite colour combinations I think. I think they compliment eachother so well and I love how bright and standout they are.. Beauty Look Book: Purple Haze | Melovemakeup.

I absolutely adore a smokey eye with a pop of colour and a bold lip. I hate the rule that if you wear a bold eye you should tone down the lips - to hell with that!

Today I wanted to use to metallic, lots of black and I added the pop of colour at the last minute as I thought it just added a little something extra to the look. Here's what I used..

EYES:
* Urban Decay Primer Potion
* NYX Milk Eyeshadow Base
* Revlon Mono Eyeshadow - Glistening Snow [Inner Corners]
* (Sleek Acid Palette) Gunmetal Grey [Centre Lid]

Makeup Haul - Sleek Palette, Barry M, Etc...

I had a little splurge recently, I still had some Christmas money left over believe it or not! So I went into town and headed for Superdrug and Boots and came away with the above. There were a few things I had been seeing on youtube and other blogs and I wanted to try for myself.

♥ ♥ ♥

Sleek Makeup Ultra Matte v2 Dark Palette: Love this! I am more of a matte shadow fan than overly shimmery, but mattes are notoriously less pigmented and harder to blend. That's not the case with this palette, they're pigmented (maye a little over powdery) and they blend really well. I'd like to get the brights version too!

Barry M Kohl Pencil: I wanted a bright pink lip liner but then I saw the pink kohl pencil, it cost less and is good to be used on eyes or lips. It's smooth and creamy and a lovely lip colour all over the lips, or as a liner for your fave pink lipstick.

No7 Vital Enlightening Highlight Powder: This was on clearance and caught my eye. It has a lovely 3d pattern on the top and is a perfect light shimmery (not glittery) highlighter that gives a gorgeous glow. I use sparingly though, it is super soft and pigmented.

Barry M Nail Paint - Silvery Lilac: I saw this on the blogosphere and knew I needed it. I've only swatched it so far, but I love it. It's a shimmerly silver/lilac duochrome that will look stunning over a dark polish, though it can be worn alone too.

Max Factor Nail Polish - Fantasy Fire: Another one that I saw on blogs and knew I had to have. I've only swatched it so far, but this is gorgeously unique, it has all kinds of multi coloured shimmer in it.. It is quite sheer but again, will be amazing over the top of a dark polish. Can't wait to paint my nails with this!

Revlon Lip Butter - Candy Apple and Cotton Candy: I wanted to try these soooo badly, and I intended on picking atleast one of them up.. I couldn't just get one though! I love the balmy sheer lipstick texture that is buildable. Both of these colours are gorgeous.

Collection 2000 Cream Puff Lip Cream - Fairy Cake and Cotton Candy: I had heard a little about these, but not too much. They had a deal on them though and these two colours stood out to me so I thought 'why not'. I am so glad I picked these up - stars of the day! They are gorgeous, they feel moisturising when you apply them, but then they set to a stain and don't budge. I think C2000 need to release more colours of these.. Other than these two there were a few nude shades. I want a red and a hot pink!

Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer: I'm not much of a bronzer girl because of how pale I am, but I've seen a few youtubers raving about this and when I saw it I just had to get it. It's matte, so perfect for contour - this is the lightest shade and it's not that pigmented atall, which makes it perfect for a lighter bronzing effect for me, but it is buildable too.

♥ ♥ ♥

So that's it! :)  I'll have some individual reviews on some of these products soon.

Do you own any of these products, which are your faves?

Colourful Easter Nails.

What do you think..  Fun or garish?

I had a sudden urge yesterday to paint my nails bright and crazy and thought I would go for something Easter-ish. I don't know what makes them anything to do with easter, but they are bright and eye catching and painted with pastel shades. They're not perfect up close, but I do really like them! I used to be addicted to nailart, but got out of the habit for so long. I want to get back into that, I just have such little patience waiting for them to dry.

I first applied two coats of Flamingo, then dotted with lilac and lemon sherbert, and on my thumbs I used lilac all over, and dotted with the others. I used a dotting tool from ebay, but you can use an orange stick or a cocktail stick, it's so simple!

Have a great Easter weekend all!

- Sleek Makeup Blusher, Pomegranate.

I loveeee Sleek as a brand so much. Their eyeshadow palettes are my faves, but I also love the other products they do. The blushers are definitely among my favourites. I have quite a few now.

Today I wanted to do a post on Pomegranate. This blusher didn't interest me when it first came out. I thought it looked too dark and just 'blah'. But when I saw it with my own eyes I realised I was wrong. It is a lovely pink deep berry-ish shade that is amazingly pigmented, smooth and blendable.

This is one of the shimmer blushes, and it is insanely smooth and blends like butter (I said that already, right?) .. You need to use a light hand, but it gives such a pretty glow and flush of colour.
How pretty? That is one swipe!

I love Sleek! You can see their website here. This blush is here and is just £4.30!

Lipstick Loving. Sleek Makeup!

I just want to show some love to my tiny collection of Sleek True Colour Lipsticks. I love them so much! The quality of them is amazing, the pigmentation is so great and they are under a fiver! £4.00 people, bargain!

I only have three so far, and they are all matte finish, but I like matte. I really like them all, they are so creamy, smooth and bright. I cannot wait to build my collection up, I have my eye on loads of colours.
I have two super bright pinks, and a purple shade. I need the red, and some of the lighter shades too. I would like them all really! I can't wait to get down to superdrug and get some pout paints too. I am SO excited to try them.
You can purchase these online and in Superdrug. What colours do you recommend?

- Sleek NOTD : Oxford.

Hi everyone, Apologies for the lack of blogging recently, I'm away at my mums with my boyfriend. We are dog/house sitting. I should get back to some more blogging over the next week or two.

Here is a recent nail of the day from Sleek. This is a gorgeous deep, shimmering navy shade, called Oxford.
I love the polishes from Sleek, they are opaque, glossy and long lasting, this shade is a fave, but probably more of a autumn/winter colour.

Available from here.

Sleek Monaco EOTD.

Hey Lovelies,

Today is just a quick eye and lip of the day. My skin is looking bad and I don't look nice in any of the pictures with my whole face in! We all have those days, right?

I played with the Sleek Makeup Monaco Palette. It's lovely!
I used Summer Breeze on the inner corner, Magenta Madness on the centre of the lid, Then Magenta Madness mixed with Midnight Garden in the crease, and blended upwards. I have a matte white on my brow bone, and for mascara I used Max factor False Lash Effect.
And for the pink pout I used Sleek's Amped Lipstick. It's gorgeous. :)

That's it for today. I told you it was short!

Sleek Make up's 'Oh So Special', 'Curacao' + 'Monaco' Palettes.

So. . . If you know me, then you know that I am an absolute major Sleek Make up addict! I have been collecting all of their iDivine palettes since god knows when, and these are my most recent additions, that make my collection complete again! I know they are all limited edition and probably not available now, but it took me a while to get hold of them. But I still had to share my thoughts.

We have the Oh So Special Palette, The Curacao from the Caribbean Collection, and the Monaco Palette from the Mediterranean Collection.

The Oh So Special Palette is a lovely palette which many people are comparing to the Urban Decay Naked Palette, and I can see why. It's packed with some gorgeous neutral toned shades, some shimmery and some matte. I love it, it's perfect for a light day look, or a dark smoky look too.

Oh So Special Swatches:

Next up, the Monaco Palette. This is beautiful, full of some lovely bright colours, this would be the perfect holiday palette. There are a couple of mattes in here (Bamboo and Summer Breeze) that need to be built up to show, but mattes are known for not being so pigmented. The shimmers are buttery soft though, and all swatches are one swipe with no primer.

Monaco Swatches:

Lastly, the SUPER bright Caribbean Palette. Gosh I love it! This is the one I have been playing with the most lately, I just love the bright stand out shades. Again, as ever, they are soft and pigmented and just great for nights out, and holidays. Or any time if you're me!

Caribbean Swatches:

There you go! I will have some looks coming very soon that I have done using these. Are you a Sleek fan? What is your favourite palette from them?

- Polish Your Pout With Sleek Pout Polish!

I thought today that I would do a post on my Sleek Pout Polish Collection. I only have three, but I really like them all. The pout polishes are lovely pigmented tinted lip conditioners with SPF 15 in them, so perfect for protecting your lips in the Summer.

Sleek Say: A tinted lip conditioning balm formulated with natural oils such as Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract and Vitamin A, C and E to help condition the lips and lock in moisture. It also includes SPF15 to help protect the lips from sun exposure.  Using a lip brush or fingers, apply a small amount to the upper and lower lips for a sheer wash of colour and gloss.
They're great to pop into your handbag when you're on the go. You can easily slick them on with your finger, but I would say be careful, because they are pigmented! I prefer to use a lipbrush to apply them. They are quite stick on the lips, which makes them last loner - and they do last really well.

Here are some swatches:

So there you have it. My pout polishes! I definitely want to try some other colours. They're so handy and cute. Do you own any of these / Which are your faves?

Available from Superdrug, and Sleek Makeup for just £4.30.

- Sunny Bright Glitter FOTD. ♡

I haven't done a face of the day in a long time, so here is one I wore a couple of days ago. I wanted something bright and sunny to cheer me up. I was surprised by the compliments I got on this look - That always makes me happy. ♡

I used my amazing 120 Palette from ebay (Just search ebay for 120 manly palette) for this look. I used the oranges, reds and a bit of brown. For the glitter I used Stargazers UV Orange (I am yet to try this in UV light!). Mascara is Rimmel Volume Max. Lips is Sleek 'Pink Freeze' with Pink Pop gloss from Revlon.

That's all for now!

- Sleek Make Up True Colour Lipstick.

Lip products seem to be my obsession at the moment, and these new lipsticks from the Sleek MakeUP range are pretty darn awesome! They are true colour lipsticks, and there is a huge shade range, with different finishes to choose from.

I was kindly sent two of them to try out and do a post on, and I really like them. I have two matte finish lipsticks in 'Pink Freeze' and 'Mystic'. As you would expect from Sleek the pigmentation is unreal - They are smooth, creamy and they are not drying either, like some matte lipsticks can be. My tip is to put a bit of lipbalm on to smooth your lips before you apply, and it will glide on much easier.

The packaging is also really sleek! The casing feels rubberised, similar to nars and is black. It's not cheap looking at all.
Pink Freeze: I knew as soon as I saw this that I was going to love it, I love bright pink lips and this is a gorgeous colour.

Mystic: I was wowed but scared when I first saw this, it looks like a crazy bright purple, but I loved it at the same time. Upon application all of my fears went away, it looks amazing on - it's not scary at all and is so incredibly vivid and great again for summer, and nights out. I love it!

I definitely need to hot foot it down to superdrug now to pick up some other colours, I like the look of the matte nude shade a lot!

Both of these lipsticks, as well as the whole range is available to but on-line or from Superdrug, and they are priced at just £4.00 each.

PR Sample.
