Beauty Hauly, Haul! :)

Hey Lovelies!

I never usually bother with hauls when I get new things, and I should - So this time I have. I had a little money saved and went shopping last week to treat myself.
Boots and superdrug were my shops of choice (which they pretty much always are), and I picked up a few nice bits.

I have some closer pictures and shades, etc. It's a little picture heavy though!

MUA Professional Palettes.

I've had these two palettes for well over a month now, They're from the MUA Pro Range.  Being really honest, I didn't expect that much and so I wasn't that bothered about any of the products .. But the I started seeing rave posts all over the blogosphere, and I wanted in!

The two that I have are Heaven and Earth (Browns) and Starry Night. I absolutely am IN love with them. They are seriously amazing quality for the price. You get twelve super soft, pigmented, creamy eyeshadows for just £4. They have a whole range of palettes too. I can't wait to try some others out.

Here is a closer look at the shades.. I didn't do swatches, as I'm not the best at swatching and you can probably find them on other blogs.

Pretty, huh? I seriously recommend these palettes if you're looking for something reasonably priced, yet still amazing quality!

Do you own any of these palettes? Tell me your faves!

You can buy in store and online from Superdrug.

- Superdrug Optimum Swiss Apple Day Cream.

Nature and science combine to form a new Anti-Ageing active ingredient
Revolutionary anti-ageing day cream with PhytoCellTec (TM) Malus Domestica which uses extracts from Swiss Uttwiler Spätlauber Apples to promote a fresher and younger-looking complexion.
  • Revolutionary anti-ageing day cream with PhytoCellTec (TM) Malus Domestica which uses extracts from Swiss Uttwiler Spätlauber Apples to promote a fresher and younger-looking complexion.
  • Helps to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • With UVA/UVB protection system
  • With Hyaluronic Acid to help firm, soften and soothe the skin
  • Use as part of your daily skincare routine along with SWISS APPLE overnight skin renewal serum.

This cream is lovely; it was brought out earlier this year to go along with the Swiss Apple Serum that they brought out late last year, which I am yet to try. It smells good (I kind of expected an apple scent, but it’s just a light soft scent) it is almost a gel like consistency and is quite thick, but the texture is light – a little goes a long way with this stuff.

It soaks in quickly and instantly gives my skin a boost, it looks brighter and is so supple and plump feeling, and I also feel that it mattifies the skin a little too, which is great for my oily skin. It makes a good base for make up and I have definitely felt and seen and improvement in my skin since using it in the last three weeks or so. I think I need the serum now, and I hope that they bring out a whole line of products for the range! I would most definitely repurchase this and will continue to use it.

Available from Superdrug, priced £9.99 until May - Then it will be £12.99.

.. *NEW* GOSH Eyeshadow Trio.

GOSH has always been a bit of a hit and miss brand for me, I own loads of there old trio's and quad eyeshadows that I had collected, but I never really use them, as the pigmentation wasn't great. However, they seem to have had a brand makeover and improved many of their products, and I am happy to say that this includes their eyeshadow trios!

I was sent these to try out, and I am super impressed by them. The packaging is more sleek and less chunky than before and the eyeshadow quality is excellent. Here, see for yourself:

See? How gorgeous are they? They are smooth, blendable and gorgeous! The colours are so bright and intense and I am really looking forward to using these over the summer.

I love them all, but limelight seems to be standing out for me the most at the moment. I did use it for a quick look recently, nothing fancy - but here it is:

What do you think? Have you or will you be trying these out? I highly recommend them. They are available from all Superdrug stores that sell GOSH, and should be available online soon. They are priced at around £7.00.

 Garnier 7 Day Body Lotion.

If you have dry skin from the cold harsh weather then this is something I would highly recommend! This was sent to me to try out and it is awesome. It's a body lotion that claims to last and keep your skin soft for up to seven days.

They Say : Imagine a body product that offers daily hydration so intense you feel it up to 7 days.
Garnier introduces its new Innovation, a light-weight non-greasy lotion enriched with natural ingredients for irresistibly soft skin that smells great. - Nourishing shea butter for dry to extra dry skin.

I Say : I love it, I don't suffer with overly dry skin, luckily, but that doesn't matter. I love to use it on my legs and any dry spots after bathing. It smells amazing! I find myself sniffing myself (dodgy!) all day when I have it on, it is yum!
It leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft (I can't vouch for the 7 day thing because I shower regularly and reapply it afterwards) .. It's a thin lotion that soaks in quickly without leaving any residue or greasy feeling on the skin.

Thumbs up from me!

»Extreme Liner & Lashes!

New from Collection 2000 is their 'Extreme' Range, which includes some 24 hour eye liners in various colours, and some coloured mascara.

Above are the eye liners, which apparently last for 24 hours. I was very excited about these, as I do love a felt tip eye liner, they are so easy to use and convenient .. I can honestly say that these are excellent. They are pigmented, really strongly coloured, and long lasting (Not sure about 24 hrs, I never wear it for that long!) .. Here are my swatches :
I love these! They nib of the pen is so fine and these liners are easy to create a thick of fine line with. The liner lasts all day on me, until I remove it .. and getting these swatches off my hand took a while too!
* * *

I also tried a couple of the mascaras, one in teal, and one in black. I like the bright packaging, which shows which colour the mascara is, and I also the  the brush on these, the way it curves inwards at the ends ensures that it gets to all lashes, even the ones you don't know are there. The formula is nice, is thick, and dries fast. I would say this is more voluminous that lengthening, but I'm ok with that.
Here it is, black on top lashes, teal on the bottom.. Sorry for the shoddy picture!

The coloured mascara is nice and pigmented, but the black is nothing special, and I have tried much better black mascaras really (like my all time fave, max factor false lash effect!). I definitely recommend the liners though. Collection 2000 is a very reasonably priced brand, available from Superdrug online, and instores.

So, there you have it.. :) Have you tried any of these, Thoughts?

» Maybe She's Born With It ..

Maybe It's Maybelline! :)
I have some gorgeous new maybelline goodies that I want to blog about today. First off, some of their Colour Sensational Lipsticks, These are some of my faves, they are pigmented, light feeling and some of them have a gorgeous sheen to them, You'll see...
They are gorgeously packaged, smooth to apply, the colour pay off is great and the colour range is pretty big! I already own 'Ambre Rose' which is my *My lips but better* Shade - Here are my swatches :
I adore all of the colours apart from Coral Fever, I'm not sure if it's me!? .. Anyway, these lipsticks get a thumbs up from me, they are priced around £7 and are creamy and moisturising, Check them out at your local Superdrug.

Next up are two of the Eyestudio Mono Eyeshadows from maybelline, not something I have ever looked into before, but these are stunning, see for yourself :

Gorgeous, right? They are smooth, intensely pigmented, they blend really nicely and I cannot fault them at all, they feel light weight, and they look lovely on! That blue is just amazing, and the silver is almost a taupe, Love it! You can also purchase these from Superdrug, I will definitely be checking out some more colours. They are around £4 each, Bargain!

Lastly, The NEW Falsies Waterproof Formula Mascara.. I already love this mascara, this is just the same as the non waterproof, it gives a lovely long voluminous lash effect, but it is waterproof. It lasts all day with out flaking or smudging, and  removed nicely with my boots botanics make up remover. I would recommend this mascara, it's one that I always have in my mascara box! This is around the £8 mark.

» MUA Budget Range!

I am sure that most of you have probably seen numerous posts about the budget MUA range from Superdrug, most of you have probably tried it out already, but I'm really behind, ok! :) MUA (Make Up Academy) is a brand that has a range in Superdrug where every item is only £1.

I have been trying some of their goodies out for the past few weeks though, and today I want to talk about them and what I think.

Firstly, I remember when the MUA brand was sold in TJ Hughes, I had some of their eyeshadow quads, glitter liners, a blusher and lipstick. It was ok, but I wasn't overly impressed. It seems that they have now redesigned the packaging and everything, so I was interested to see what it was like now.

Firstly, I have seven on the eyeshadows. The first four are 'Pearl' which are shimmery, and the bottom three are matt shades.

I like the 'Pearl' finish eyeshadows, the pigmentation for £1 is impressive. The matt shades however were a little disappointing with quite poor pay off. They are very sheer and powdery, and sadly they didn't last for long.

Next up are a couple of the lip glosses, these are really nice! They are pigmented, they smell sweet and are not too sticky. I am definitely wanting to try some more colours of the glosses, take a look :
See the pretty shimmers in shade 2? Love it!

Last up, and something else that impressed me loads in the liquid eye liners. The packaging is good, and the colour pay off is amazing. Once they are dry they do not budge easily, These are a sure winner! The only thing you have to wait a little longer for, is when you apply them they take a little longer than most to dry, but when they are dry, they are good.

How gorgeous is shade 3? .. It's a current fave! :)

So that's my lot for now.. I want to try some more glosses and shimmer eyeshadows. The quality of everything is really impressive for £1 per item, But I would probably skip the matt eyeshadows, they just didn't show up or last well on me.

So you have any MUA recommendation's?

Thank you for reading.

New GOSH Cosmetics Goodies.

I recently recieved a selection of new gosh goodies from Superdrug to test out and review for you all..

I was sent the following products  ..
  • Intense Lip Colour Gloss (Shades 301 + 302)
  • Brow Kit
  • Bronzing Shimmer Brush
  • Intense Waterproof Mascara
  • Lengthening Two Step Mascara
[I will review the mascara's at a later date..]

So, I want to talk about the glosses first, because these are amazingly lovely and I instantly fell in love with them both! They don't have shade names, just numbers :

The swatches make them look quite similar, but they're not.
301 is a pretty creamy pink colour and 302 is a mauvey nude colour, I wasn't sure I would like 302 but I actually really do! It's great over a nude lipstick, but they are both very pigmented and can be worn alone. My swatches show how pigmented they are with just one swatch. . . The glosses have a small side mirror on the side of the tube and a light inside the lid that you can operate by a small button on the lid. This is super handy for nights out!

The Brow Kit.
The brow kit contains three shades for the brows and a brow wax. I've never used a brow wax, but they definitely work to help keeping your brows in place all day! All three shades are really good shade and I use a mix of the lightest and medium colour for myself, although the dark one will be ideal for stronger looks. It also contains a tiny brush that you can use, but it's too small and I prefer to use my own.

. . .
Bronzy Goodness!
When I saw this I pulled a face, it's one of these that comes pack inside of the brush, then you push a button at the end to dispense the product. The actual product inside is a really nice finely milled bronze shimmer though, and gives a nice glow. The brush isn't the best though, and is a little scratchy.. I was a bit miffed about how to get the lid back on over the brush at first, but there is actually a lip that you pull up over the brush so that you can slide the lid on without ruining the brush. I tried to show what I mean in the picture below.

. . .

This new Impulse body spray was also an unexpected extra in the package and is lovely. It's a lovely refreshing feminine scent, that smells like pink grapefruit and vanilla.

These are the two mascaras which I shall be reviewing in an upcoming post! :)
All of the above products are available from Superdrug online and instore.

Superdrug Natural High Eye Cream.

I enjoy doing these little 'What I love to use' posts at the moment.. Today we have the eye cream I use! .. Eye cream was something I never used for a long time, but one day (a couple of yrs ago) I decided I needed too, and these were my purchases..

These are Superdrug's Natural High Eye Creams.. I bought these of a whim one day to try them, and was surprised by how nice they are, then all of a sudden I saw the brightening one popping up on blogs, it seemed that others were trying and liking it too.

The brightening one is the best of the two and really does brighten, as well as instantly soothe and cool, I couldn't be without it. I always recommend this to people who ask what eye cream I would suggest.

The Anti Ageing one is soothing, but doesn't feel like it's working as much as the brightening one does, but that is ok, I used the brightening one in the morning and the anti ageing at night.

They leave my under eyes feeling soft and moisturised and more awake.

I also use their MakeUp Remover/Cleanser which I like, but I have since found my love for the Boots Botanics one.. The Natural High Range consists of lots of skincare though, and I would definitely like to buy some more items to try out soon.

The eye creams are only £4.49 each! and at the moment all 'Natural High' products are 2 for £5 which is an absolute bargain! I might need back up's!

Let me know your thoughts on this range if you have used it :)

Collection 2000 Glam Metallics.

One of the newer offerings from the Collection 2000 drugstore range are these metallic liquid liners. I was sceptical at first, but it is actually really good!

I could compare it to a MAC liquid last liner, it lasts for so so so long and is quite difficult to remove without a good make up remover. The swatch below was on my hand for ages.

The consistency of the liner is nice and smooth, pigmented and not gloopy what so ever, I've had it for a while too and it hasn't gone thick at all (Like the MAC ones tend to...)

This is just a fraction of the price and alot bigger than the MAC too, this was less than a fiver and is definitely comparable.

Have any of you tried these?
