Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and Shimmer Touch.

I was completely sucked in by all of the hype surrounding the Rimmel 'Wake me up' foundation when it was released. Bloggers and you tubers were raving about this amazing product that gave a gorgeous, natural, dewy, fresh faced finish. I was a little unsure how it would work for me though, because I have oily skin and looking shiny happens naturally for me most of the time.

But when I spotted it on offer in Superdrug last Summer I knew it was a sign, so I picked a bottle up. I am the lightest shade, Ivory, and it's a pretty perfect match for my skin. I got this around the same time that I got my Real Techniques core collection brushes, so I used the foundation brush with this foundation for the first time and I was in heaven.

This foundation makes my skin look so flawless, so glowy and fresh and I don't look like a shiny ball of grease at all... It actually looks good and it has exceeded my expectations and now I am addicted! I still use a primer for oily skin under this and I powder my t-zone too (needed for me), but my skin still looks super fresh and doesn't get super oily, super quick.

A couple of bonuses about the foundation are that the packaging is awesome and has a lovely pump bottle and also the foundation actually smells really good!

So, fast forward a few months and I spot the instant radiance shimmer touch highlighters from the same range... Get this, in a pound shop! As you can imagine, I snapped those babies up. They are perfect for Summer to give a gorgeous glow.. I'd say they're a little too shimmery and pigmented for a highlight on my skin tone, but I like to dot the smallest amount on my cheeks for some added summer freshness and glow.

All I need to do now is try out the concealer.. Which I've heard good things about!  What are your foundation faves?

Beauty Look Book #FOTD: Blue Glitter Liner.

Today I wanted to post a face of the day look that I did a few weeks ago.. I can be so terrible at getting these up on time sometimes! Anyway, this look was basically done to showcase my new glitter liner that I got from Collection (2000) to add to my collection, it's in the shade night fever and it's so vivid! The glam crytals liners are seriously some of the absolute best, so packed with glitter and they show up so well.

So I kept the eyes simple with a skintone shade all over the lid, then I added some definition into my crease using MAC's Era and Mystery eyeshadow mixed together, I then used my Maybelline black gel liner and created a semi heavy winged liner, then I carefully did a line directly above that line with the night fever glitter liner, I did this for a couple of coats. I rimmed my eyes with black kohl pencil, smudged a little mystery and era along the lower lashline and threw on a few coats of Max Factor false last effect mascara.

The skin was simple, I used my Nude Magique from L'Oreal and some stay matte powder from Rimmel and I contoured with The Balm's Bahama Mana matte bronzer and used the Glossybox blusher on my cheeks. On my lips I filled in my lips with nude lipliner from rimmel and lightly topped them off with MAC Snob lipstick.

Finito!

Photo-a-Day ~ Day Seventeen ~ Apocaliptic!

Anyone know how we got to the 17th so quickly?  This year is just flying by! They say the older you get the faster it passes you by, that's definitely true!

Today I tried the Rimmel Apocalips for the first time, I've been seeing them around and loved the look of this shade, apocaliptic. Isn't it pretty? I like lots! I want to get the red one too.

I'll have a proper review about it sometime soon. :)

Rimmel Colour Rush Eyeshadow : Backstage. ♡

While I was at my Mum's recently, I spied this inside her holiday make up bag. I swatched it, and I fell in love! She had bought it the previous year to use on her holiday, and was about to take it with her again. .  Lucky for me, when she got home and she hadn't use it for the whole two weeks, she said that I could have it. She said it was a bit shimmery for her.

This is a Rimmel Glam Eyes Mono Eyeshadow, and I think you can still by them in Boots/Superdrug, but I can't be sure. It is one of the most luscious eyeshadows ever. It is so, so smooth, the pigmentation is strong and the colour is a stunning golden/bronzey taupe. It looks great alone, or paired with a dark brown in the crease (Fotd soon).
It's funny, because I used to hate browns, golds, and bronze eyeshadows, thinking they were boring, but as I've matured, I love them just as much as I love bright shades now. There is nothing like a sophisticated smoky eye with these kind of shades.

I've googled it, and it seems you can get this colour here, for £1.25, which makes me think it might be discontinued in Boots, etc. If you like these kind of colours, I would recommend!

Some Current Beauty Faves .. ♡

Rimmel Lash Accelorator Mascara. Wow, I love this! As a mascara the results for me are impressive .. I haven't been using it for long enough to know if it accelerates, but as a mascara it lengthens like crazy, and adds a nice amount of volume too, and it is really black.

Sleek MakeUP's Molten Metals. I love how quick and simple they are to use. They last much better than most cream products before they crease, and they look great just slicked onto the lid, or even used on the lashline as a liner.

Sue Moxley Shimmer Brick (Pink). Just a lovely mix of colours, perfect for a nice sheen on the cheeks, as a blusher - or the lighter shades used as a highlighter. I prefer to mix them all up. It's lovely!

Eyeko Fat Balms. Lovveeee these little fatbalms! They are conditioning, smell good and look lovely on too. This is the cherry one which gives a lovely, long lasting red stain to the lips. I would recommend.

The Cosmo Beauty Blend Perfection Sponge. I need to review this more thoroughly, but I love it. It blends my foundations amazingly well and leaves me with a flawless finish. I love using sponges to apply make up, and this is my favouritist one!

♥ I Love Hauling!

Hey lovelies! I recently had a little bit of retail therapy. I had some leftover Christmas money, and wanted to have a browse around town, So here is a little haul post of what I picked up!

♥ Cosmopolitan Beauty Blender 'Dupe' Sponge : I have wanted this ever since I saw it recently on a you tube video (can't remember who's!) I have wanted a Beauty Blender for ages, but have heard that this is as good, if not better - and it is only £4.95! Bargain :)
♥ Garnier Pure Active Moisturiser : I lovvee this! It's one of my faves, and I would repurchase it over and over. It's cooling, soothing, moisturises well and combats spots too!
♥ Nails Inc Polish, Caramel : I got this free with two bottles of yummy Diet Coke. This is the only colour they had left! I don't have a nude, so am looking forward to trying this out.
♥ Accessorize Illusion Polish, Aztec : I've wanted this since it came out, It's a stunning multi shimmer duochrome shade, comparable to one of MAC's limited edition shades. It's stunning! I put it on as soon as I got home and I cannot stop looking at my fingers!
♥ MAC Club Eyeshadow : OMG, this is awesomeness! I've wanted it for a while, and it lives up to all I expected. It's a beautiful duochrome (brown/green) and just looks so good on the eyes. I am wearing it now, alone, and it looks like I made such an effort to do a green/brown crease look. LOVE! ♥
♥ Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Translucent : I've read numerous positive reviews on this recently, So I thought I would jump on the bandwagon! So far so good. It seems to be keeping my oily skin matte.
♥ The XL Gosh Shader : This is a really nice big fluffy dense brush. I have wanted a MAC 227 for ages, but it's an expensive brush, so I picked this up for £7.99 to see how it lives up. I am liking it so far!

These are just a few bits I picked up in The Body Shop sale. The palette is gorgeous, and the shades are so soft and pigmented. The single shadows were supercheap, and I couldn't resist trying a few. As for the Shimmer cubes - I reviewed them on here recently as I bought them the other week. I just thought I would show it all in this haul too.

♥ True Blood Season 1 and 2 box set! (Did I mention that I LOVE true blood?) .. I ordered this online and cannot wait to start watching them all again!
♥ The earrings were so cheap at £3 (down from £10) and I thought they looks cute and summery!
The Balms Bahama Mama, and Hot Mama, I got these in TK Maxx for £5.99 each (RRP £19) .. They are lovely! The bronzer is matte and perfect for contour, and Hot Mama is like a peachy golden rosy pink! I love it very muchly!

Lastly, Urban Decay Liquid Liner in GASH (what a name!) This was £4.99 (RRP £11.95) from TK Maxx again, I love it, it's such a stunning shade. The mascara is the new Boots mascara, which I am loving. I won this in a facebook giveaway but wanted to pop it in here.

... And that is it! What do you think? f you want to see more on anything, let me know!

Rimmel : 'Sky High' Nails.

I'm at my mums house in Plymouth now, she has gone to Turkey with her partner, his daughter, and my little sister. My tasks when I arrived here was to do their nails (Mum + Sister's) and pluck my sisters eyebrows. My mum had bought some new nail polish especially, even though I had brought some with me.

They were some Rimmel 60 second polishes with the fat brush, which I have never tried. One of the colours is 'Sky High' which is a stunning blue/turquoise colour, I am in love with it. Once I had done their nails I swiftly painted my nails in it.

The application with the fat brush is nice, I like it! The colour is opaque and the picture shows two coats. I know it's not the tidiest paint job, but what do you think?

Pretty, init? :)

Highlighters

OK, So highlighting your browbone is important, right? .. Yep, I think so too!

So, I have a few different eyeshadows I use as a highlighter, but I always come back to one in particular..

Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow [#244] In Moonstone.

I LOVE this shadow, It is a shimmering white shade, Acts as the perfect highligh, and reflects the light nicely. This is available in most make up stores for around £2.99. I highly reccomend it! I have been using this for a long time, and it lasts ages.

(Swatches to follow)
